Therapy 2000 and KidsCare Home Health have announced their merger, establishing a significant national provider of pediatric home health services.
The newly combined organization will deliver occupational, physical, speech, and feeding therapies, alongside pediatric private duty nursing from KidsCare, to over 21,000 patients. They will operate with a team of 2,300 employees.
Services will be available across nine states, including Texas, Oregon, Idaho, Colorado, Maryland, Virginia, South Carolina, Florida, and Washington, D.C. The merger received support from Avesi Partners.
The demand for pediatric home health services is growing as more children from birth to age 21 live with chronic and complex conditions, such as developmental delays and physical disabilities. Home-based care offers a crucial alternative, supporting skill development, reducing hospital stays, and increasing family satisfaction by providing care in a familiar environment.
This trend highlights the need for specialized, accessible healthcare outside traditional clinical settings. Mergers like this aim to address that expanding need by broadening service reach and integrating expertise to improve outcomes for young patients across diverse geographical areas.
