The Mission Driven Bank Fund (MDBF) concluded the second quarter of 2026 by injecting capital into two financial institutions: Anchor Bank and Icon Business Bank. These additions bring the total number of banks supported by the fund to 15.
Anchor Bank, a Florida-based minority depository institution, received a follow-up investment. The bank has scaled its assets from $350 million to $600 million since the fund's initial 2024 participation, including a recent expansion into the Georgia market.
Icon Business Bank, which launched in 2023, also secured funding. The Southern California institution focuses on providing specialized lending and deposit services to local business owners and families.
The MDBF operates as a strategic investor focused on strengthening minority depository institutions and mission-driven banks. By providing both capital and technical support, the fund helps these local lenders increase their capacity to serve low-to-moderate-income communities. This approach aims to foster economic resilience by ensuring that community-focused banks have the resources necessary to compete with larger commercial entities.
This initiative reflects a broader trend of private impact investing directed toward regional and community-focused financial services. As these institutions grow, they are better positioned to offer essential credit and banking access in underserved areas, directly influencing local wealth creation and small business development.
