Durham-based Kornbluth Ginsberg Law Group has elevated attorney Joseph Hjelt to the position of partner. Managing partner Michael Kornbluth cited Hjelt's commitment to legal advocacy and client service as primary drivers for the promotion.
Hjelt graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2018. He has since established himself as a specialist in employment law, a designation held by a limited number of practitioners in North Carolina.
Beyond his firm responsibilities, Hjelt has served as the chair of the Employment Law Section for the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. He has also received annual recognition from North Carolina Super Lawyers since 2021.
The legal sector increasingly prioritizes specialized credentials as workplace regulations grow more complex. Board certification in employment law serves as a key differentiator for firms, as it requires rigorous continuing education and peer review processes.
As workplace disputes and employment discrimination cases remain a significant area of litigation, firms are investing in leadership with deep subject-matter expertise to navigate state-specific labor requirements effectively.
