During the American Library Association's 150th annual event, Chinese author Xuemo became the first writer from China to be featured on the cover of the organization's official exhibitor handbook.
The handbook showcased two of the author's recent English-language titles: the novel Eternal Love and the essay collection Reclaim the Throne of Your Heart. Library professionals at the event frequently sought further information on these works at exhibition booths.
Beyond the conference, Xuemo's books have gained wider institutional placement. His works are now held in nearly 40 universities, including Harvard and MIT, and are represented in 170 institutions across 13 countries.
The increased visibility of Xuemo’s work reflects a broader push by academic and public libraries to diversify their international collections. By incorporating more voices from western China, institutions are actively broadening the scope of their spiritual and philosophical archives to better serve a global readership.
This trend highlights the growing importance of high-quality translation in bridging cultural gaps, as scholars and readers continue to seek perspectives that extend beyond traditional Western canons.
